The Scheepvaartkwartier is a residential area close to Osdorpplein in Centrum Nieuw West. Block C consists of 14 apartments and 30 single-family homes. The urban block forms the basic element of the urban development plan made by Khandekar Stadsontwerp for a new varied center for Osdorp.

In 2006, AWG was commissioned to design two apartment blocks within this ensemble with five and twelve layers respectively. The courtyards of the residential blocks are arranged as a garden for the residents. The courts are closed off from the public space, but are visible from the street through the interruptions in the facade. This way they contribute to the green atmosphere of the residential area.

St. Joris Ceramic Industry supplied the extruded facing bricks for this project, green-glazed 190x90x90mm.
